چکیده
Story-added type apartments have recently been introduced as an option to resolve the housing supply shortage in areas that are undergoing rapid industrialization and urbanization. However, infrastructure of old apartment buildings (>20 years old) makes it difficult introduce convenient facilities recent technologies such those involving Internet Things augmented realities. Applying existing older can increase potentially address aforementioned issues. story-added building remodeling increases weight buildings, necessitating seismic reinforcement, which is major obstacle when performing vertical extensions. This study presents methods for lowering loads associated with augmentation while improving performance. A model a vertically extended three additional stories constructed on top 15-story was used. The applied isolation system decreased maximum response acceleration remodeled by approximately 70% 65% X-direction Y-direction, respectively, decreasing base shear plane 30% both X- Y-directions comparison forces non-seismically isolated building. These results demonstrate use significantly reduce loads.

Seismic Design of Multi-story Buildings with Metallic Structural Fuses
Seismic design relies on inelastic deformations through hysteretic behavior. However, this translates into damage on structural elements, permanent system deformations following an earthquake, and possibly high cost for repairs. An alternative design approach is to concentrate damage on disposable and easy to repair structural elements (i.e., “structural fuses”), while the main structure is des...

This paper examines differences in performances of a range of torsionally stiff and flexible single story buildings designed with the provisions of Iranian Standard 2800. Seismic nonlinear dynamic time history behavior of eight building models subjected to seven horizontal bi-directional design spectra compatible ground motions are investigated. These models cover a wide range of very torsional...
متن کاملSeismic Behavior of Asymmetric Two-Story X-braced Frames
Concentrically braced frames (CBFs) are one of the efficient lateral load resisting systems in high seismicity regions. One of the common problems with the use of concentrically braced frames is limitation in the architectural application and position of the openings. Two-story X braced frames have more advantages than other configurations of concentrically braced frames, since in many cases th...

Lightweight cold-formed steel (CFS) framing is an effective building solution for low and mid-rise structures. However, systems level response and component contributions as well as their interactions such as those from lateral-load resisting systems, floor diaphragms, studs to track connections, etc., are not fully understood. Existing building codes for the CFS frame buildings are based solel...
